Robert Huntington

Dr. Robert H. Huntington became the 14th president of Heidelberg University on July 1, 2009. With a long-term focus on improving academic excellence, campus experience and student success, the University’s strategic goals are to strengthen Heidelberg value, enrollment growth, campus vibrancy, and financial sustainability. Dr. Huntington came to Heidelberg after 25 years in the corporate sector, having worked in a variety of executive management positions for more than 22 years at Dunkin’ Brands Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts. Additionally, he served as a member of the Board of Trustees for 11 years at Lasell University in Newton, Massachusetts.

Rob was born in Minnesota and raised in Oregon. He earned his B.A. Degree in Political Science and German from Middlebury College. He received his M.A. degree in German Literature from Middlebury's University of Mainz program in Germany, his M.B.A. degree from Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business, and his Ed.D. degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.

In the Tiffin community, Rob serves as a Trustee on the boards of the Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership and the Tiffin Community Foundation. He also serves on the Executive and Governance Committees of the Lakeside Association Board of Directors. In higher education, he serves on the Governing Committee as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC) and serves as a Trustee for the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Ohio (AICUO). 

Rob is married to Dr. Susan McCafferty, an attorney and clinical psychologist, whom he met at their undergraduate alma mater, Middlebury College. They are the parents of two adult children, Ashley and Aidan.
